Silicon Valley tech large ServiceNow introduced that it plans to amass Period Software program, a Seattle startup that helps builders handle and analyze giant volumes of observability information throughout cloud-native workloads.

ServiceNow, an $81 billion firm that gives digital workflow software program merchandise, mentioned the deal will present prospects with a “unified observability resolution at scale” and builds on the corporate’s acquisition final yr of Lightstep, a cloud-native reliability platform.

“The success of digital transformation is tied to unified observability, and log administration is a key element of that. The Period Software program acquisition permits us to drag log information into the brand new world of contemporary observability with ServiceNow’s scale and breadth,” ServiceNow wrote in a weblog publish.

Period’s expertise can be folded into Lightstep’s product, in keeping with a spokesperson.

Period was based in 2019 by CEO Todd Persen, co-founder and former CTO of InfluxData, and CTO Robert Winslow, co-maintainer of Google’s FlatBuffers low-latency storage framework in Rust and co-creator of the Time Collection Benchmarking Suite.

The corporate, previously often known as EraDB, raised a $15.2 million Collection A spherical final yr led by Playground World. Different backers embody Basis Capital, Array Ventures, World Founders Capital, and angel traders. Period has 40-50 staff and most are anticipated to hitch ServiceNow.

Phrases of the deal weren’t disclosed.
