Bank-backed Irish mobile payments app taps Nexi as tech partner

Synch Funds, the cellular funds three way partnership arrange by Eire’s main banks, has introduced in Italy’s Nexi as its know-how associate.

Synch is constructing a money-transfer app, referred to as Yippay, on behalf of AIB, Financial institution of Eire, KBC Eire and Everlasting TSB.

It would supply banks and authorised monetary establishments a service that can lets retailers obtain account-to-account funds for POS and e-commerce transactions, with an efficient “mobile-only” user-experience for buyers.

Earlier this month, the mission, which is designed to assist the banks tackle the likes of Revolut, was given the all-clear by Eire’s Competitors & Client Safety Fee.

Nexi, which has developed the Jiffy platform powering cellular funds service Bancomat Pay in Italy, has now been picked because the Synch platform and repair supplier.

Inez Cooper, MD, Synch Funds, says: “Because the latest CCPC announcement per week in the past we’ve had quite a few enquiries from organisations that need to be a part of the service.
